It is unlawful for any person to alter or to indicate on any bill of sale or any other documents that a sales or use tax has been paid when the tax has in fact not been paid. Acts 1953, ch. 103, § 4 (Williams, § 5538.139d); T.C.A. (orig. ed.), § 59-308.
