Text
The Superintendent of State Police shall be the executive and administrative head of the Department of State Police. Subject to confirmation by the Senate in the manner provided in ORS 171.562 (Procedures for confirmation) and 171.565 (Vote required for confirmation) , the Governor shall appoint the superintendent for a term of four years. The Governor may remove the superintendent for inefficiency or malfeasance in office after charges have been preferred and a hearing granted. [Formerly 181.200]
