01. Size Classification. The following table defines the height and storage capacity limits used by th e Department to classify dams regulated for the benefit of public safety: Dam Size Classification Height Storage Capacity Ten (10) feet or more but less Fifty (50) acre-feet or more but less than one Small Dams and Reservoirs than twenty (20) and hundred (100) acre-feet. feet Twenty (20) feet or more but One hundred (100) acre-feet or more but less Intermediate Dams and Reservoirs less than forty (40) or than four thousand (4,000) acre-feet. feet Large Dams or Reservoirs Forty (40) feet or more or Four thousand (4,000) acre-feet or more.
