This section covers international applications and

registrations

originating from

the United States, i.e., international

registrations based on an application for registration on the Principal or Supplemental

Register pending in the USPTO and/or a registration issued by the USPTO on the Principal or

Supplemental Register.  See

for information about requests for extension of

protection

to

the United States by the holder of an international

registration originating in another country.  International applications originating from

the United States are processed by the USPTO’s Madrid Processing Unit (MPU).
