Volunteer stations shall be within the project's geographical service area as defined in the approved grant application. Each facility serving as a volunteer station, shall be licensed or otherwise certified by the appropriate state or local licensing authority. A volunteer station shall not request or receive any compensation for services of senior companions supervised by it. A volunteer station shall not be a project sponsor. Assignment of senior companions to private homes will be made only with concurrence of the project director and after a memo of understanding has been obtained from the person to be served or an appropriate caretaker.
