(65 ILCS 5/1-2-5) (from Ch. 24, par. 1-2-5) Sec. 1-2-5. The municipal clerk shall record, in a book used exclusively for that purpose, all ordinances passed by the corporate authorities. Immediately following each ordinance the municipal clerk shall make a memorandum of the date of the passage and of the publication or posting, where required, of the ordinance. This record and memorandum, or a certified copy thereof, shall be prima facie evidence of the contents, passage, and of the publication or posting of ordinances. This section shall not apply to cities with a population of 500,000 or more. (Source: Laws 1961, p. 576.)
