(a) Pleadings. -- A pleading is the formal allegation by a party of his or her claims and/or
defenses. Pleadings allowed include complaint, answer, setoff, counterclaim, reply to a
counterclaim, cross-claim, and a third party complaint and answer. All actions shall be
commenced by filing a complaint on a form prescribed by the Court. Defendants shall file an
answer as directed by the summons.
(b) Motions. -- A motion is an application made to the court for the purpose of obtaining a
rule or order directing some act to be done.
(1) An application to the Court for an order shall be by motion which, unless made
during a hearing or trial, shall be made in writing, and shall set forth the relief or order sought.
(2) Omitted.
(3) All motions shall be signed in accordance with Rule 11.
(c) Demurrers, pleas, etc., abolished. -- Demurrers, pleas, and exceptions for insufficiency
of a pleading shall not be used.
