Re:

Appointments and Appointment Terminations

Effective October 18, 2007, the New Hampshire Insurance Department is changing our policy

regarding active appointments associated with inactive producer licenses. On and after October 18,

2007, whenever a license status changes from active to any other status, all active appointments

associated with that license will automatically terminate. Also on October 18, 2007, all currently

active appointments associated with an inactive license will be terminated.

New Hampshire does not have grace periods for producer license renewals. The result of this change

is that if a license is not renewed on or before the expiration date, the appointments associated with

that license will terminate when the license terminates. If a license is subsequently reinstated, new

appointments will be required in accordance with NH RSA 402-J:14 and NH RSA 400-A:29.

All appointments and appointment terminations are processed electronically via the National

Insurance Producer Registry (NIPR).
