FY23 Clean Air Act 103 Grant

RESOLUTION OF THE TRIBAL COUNCIL

OF THE PYRAMID LAKE PAIUTE TRIBE

NIXON, NEVADA

the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is organized pursuant to the provisions of Section

16 of the Indian Reorganization Act (25 U.S.C. § 476) and is federally recognized

by the United States Government through the Secretary of the Interior and the

Bureau of Indian Affairs; and

the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, pursuant to Article VI, Section 1 of the

Constitution and By-laws of the Tribe; and

the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe recognizes the importance of providing protection

for the quality of the environment for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation’s

natural resources and for its communities; and

the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe recognizes the importance with providing

protection for the quality of clean air for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation

communities and for its community residents for a cleaner, healthier environment

and to improve air quality; and

the United States Environmental Protection Agency has issued a Notice of

Funding Opportunity for funds under the Clean Air Act (CAA) 103; and

the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe received an invite letter from the Environmental

Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 on May 6° 2022 indicating funding for the

Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Tribal Air Monitoring Program in the amount of

$124,700; and

the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Tribal Monitoring Program has prepared a

continued particulate matter (PM10) monitoring project for funding for the

FY2023; and

the CAA103 grant funding does not require a cash match; and

the application is due on May 20, 2022; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council

hereby approves the grant application to be submitted for the competitive Clean

Air Act 103 for the FY2023; and

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the chairperson or designee is authorized to execute the

application process with EPA Region 9.

CERTIFICATION

It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council, governing

body of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, composed of ten members, of whom ten (10) constituting a

quorum were present at a meeting duly held on the 19 day of May 2022, was adopted by the affirmative

vote of nine (9) FOR and zero (0) AGAINST, with zero (0) ABSTENTIONS; pursuant to the authority

contained in the Constitution and By-laws of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.
