EPA Air Monitoring Grants

RESOLUTION OF THE TRIBAL COUNCIL

OF THE PYRAMID LAKE PAIUTE TRIBE

NIXON, NEVADA

WHEREAS, _ the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is organized pursuant to the provisions of Section 16 of

the Indian Reorganization Act (25 U.S.C. § 476) and is federally recognized by the

United States Government through the Secretary of the Interior and the Bureau of Indian

Affairs; and

WHEREAS, the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council is the duly elected governing body of the

Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe charged with the responsibility of establishing policy and

taking action to preserve and protect the health and general welfare of the Tribal

membership; and

WHEREAS, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) invited the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe

to apply for federal funding for noncompetitive direct grant funding under the Inflation

Reduction Act (IRA) Sections 60105(a) and 60105 (b) providing critical resources to

support the sustainability of national air quality monitoring networks; and

WHEREAS, the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe’s Air Quality Program has developed a work plan and

budget for IRA’s funding opportunity that aligns with EPA’s FY 2022-2026 Strategic

Plan, Goal 4 to Ensure Clean and Healthy Air for All Communities, Objective 4.1 to

Improve Air Quality and Reduce Localized Pollution and Health Impacts; and

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council hereby

approves, supports, and authorizes the submittal of the application for EPA’s noncompetitive direct grant

funding under the Inflation Reduction Act Sections 60105 (a) and 60105 (b).

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED THE PYRAMID LAKE PAIUTE TRIBAL COUNCIL authorizes

the Tribal Chairperson or designee to execute the documents to achieve the intents and purposes of this

Resolution.

CERTIFICATION

It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council, governing

body of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, composed of ten members, of whom fen (10) constituting a

quorum were contacted during a poll vote duly held on the May 22"4 day of May 2024, was adopted by

the affirmative vote of nine (9) FOR and zero (0) AGAINST, with zero (0) ABSTENTIONS; pursuant to
