FY24 Clean Air Act Grant
RESOLUTION OF THE TRIBAL COUNCIL
OF THE PYRAMID LAKE PAIUTE TRIBE
NIXON, NEVADA
the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe is organized pursuant to the provisions of Section 16 of
the Indian Reorganization Act (25 U.S.C. § 476) and is federally recognized by the
United States Government through the Secretary of the Interior and the Bureau of Indian
Affairs; and
the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, pursuant to Article VI, Section 1 of the Constitution and
By-laws of the Tribe; and
the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe recognizes the importance of providing protection for the
quality of the environment for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation’s natural resources
and for its communities; and
the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe recognizes the importance with providing protection for
the quality of clean air for the Pyramid Lake Paiute Reservation communities and for its
community residents for a cleaner, healthier environment and to improve air quality; and
the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 has issued a Notice
of Funding Opportunity for fiscal year (FY)2024 under the Clean Air Act (CAA) 103, 42
USC §7403; and
the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Tribal Monitoring Program has prepared a grant proposal
that continues the particulate matter (PM10) monitoring project for the FY2024; and
the FY2024 CAA103 grant funding does not require a cash match; and
the proposal to begin negotiations is due on March 3, 2023; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council hereby
approves the grant proposal to begin negotiations with the U.S. EPA to be submitted for
the competitive Clean Air Act 103 for the FY2024; and
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that the Tribal Chairperson or designee is authorized to execute the
application process with EPA Region 9.
CERTIFICATION
It is hereby certified that the foregoing resolution of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribal Council, governing
body of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, composed of ten members, of whom nine (9) constituting a
quorum were present at a meeting duly held on the 15“ day of February 2023, was adopted by the

affirmative vote of five (5) FOR and two (2) AGAINST, with one (1) ABSTENTIONS; pursuant to the
authority contained in the Constitution and By-laws of the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe.
