Cincinnati, Ohio.

The purpose of the meeting will be to seek Council advice and

comments on EPA's recently announced ``Agenda For Action,'' which is

designed to assess and identify priorities and improve the

effectiveness of drinking water safety. Issues include: improving

consumer information; identifying priority contaminants for regulation;

providing technical assistance for small communities and the protecting

source waters; identifying flexibilities for states, including

monitoring approaches; and increasing investment in community drinking

water facilities.

The meeting will be open to the public. The Council encourages the

hearing of outside statements and will allocate a portion of its

meeting time for public participation. Oral statements will be limited

to ten minutes. It is preferred that there be only one

meeting will be distributed to the members before any final discussion

or vote is completed. Statements received after the meeting will become

part of the permanent meeting file and will be forwarded to the Council

members for their information.
