Notice of Lodging of Consent Decree Pursuant to the Clean Air Act

In accordance with Section 113(g) of the Clean Air Act, 42 U.S.C.

7413(g), notice is hereby given that on October 5, 1994, two proposed

consent decrees in United States v. Pacific Mechanical Insulators Inc.

Civil Action No. 94-0443-N-HLR was lodged with the United States

District Court for the District of Idaho. The complaint, filed on

October 4, 1994, alleges that defendants Pacific Mechanical Insulators,

Inc., Pacific Technologies, Inc., Olshan Asbestos Removal Corp.

(``Olshan''), and Potlatch Corporation (``Potlatch'') violated the

National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants for asbestos,

U.S.C. S 7412 during a 1989-1990 renovation of the Potlatch pulp and

paper plant in Lewiston, Idaho. The consent decrees resolve the United

States' claims only against Potlatch and Olshan and has no effect on

the claims against the remaining defendants. Pursuant to the proposed

consent decrees, Olshan and Potlatch will pay civil penalties of

$353,800 and $250,000 respectively and Potlach will implement a

company-wide asbestos control program.
