DOC has submitted to the Office of Management and Budget for

clearance the following proposal for collection of information under

the provisions of the Paperwork Reduction Act (44 U.S.C. Chapter 35).

Agency: National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

Title: Advance Technology Program Application.

Agency Form Numbers: NIST-1262 and NIST-1263.

OMB Approval Number: 0693-0009.

Type of Request: Revision of a currently approved collection.

Burden: 30,000 hours.

Number of Respondents: 1,000.

Avg Hours Per Response: 30.

Needs and Uses: NIST has established the Advanced Technology

Program to accelerate the commercialization of technological

innovations and refinement of manufacturing technologies by U.S.

businesses. The information requested is necessary to assure a fair and

equitable process to evaluate and fund proposals submitted to the

program.

Affected Public: Businesses, federal agencies, small businesses,

non-profit institutions, state or local governments.

Frequency: On occasion -- one-time only per application.

Respondent's Obligation: Required to obtain or retain a benefit.
