## Text

If a vacancy occurs in the office of sheriff, the vacancy shall be filled as provided for in § 5-1-104(b) . Code 1858, § 374 (deriv. Acts 1839-1840, ch. 63, § 4); Shan., § 464; Code 1932, § 711; impl. am. Acts 1978, ch. 934, §§ 7, 36; T.C.A. (orig. ed.), § 8-806; Acts 1981, ch. 318, § 4.
