December 29, 2023 Senate Bill 131 - 134th General Assembly Except as provided in this section and in section 4753.10 of the Revised Code, a license issued by the state speech and hearing professionals board shall be renewed biennially in accordance with the standard renewal procedure contained in Chapter 4745. of the Revised Code. If the application for renewal is made one year or longer after the renewal application is due, the person shall apply for licensure as provided in section 4753.06 or division (B) of section 4753.08 of the Revised Code. The board shall not renew a conditional license; however, the board may grant an applicant a second conditional license. The board shall establish by rule adopted pursuant to Chapter 119. of the Revised Code the qualifications for license renewal. Applicants shall demonstrate continued competence, which may include continuing education, examination, self-evaluation, peer review, performance appraisal, or practical simulation. The board may establish other requirements as a condition for license renewal as considered appropriate by the board. The board may renew a license which expires while the license is suspended, but the renewal shall not affect the suspension. The board shall not renew a license which has been revoked. If a revoked license is reinstated under section 4753.10 of the Revised Code after it has expired, the licensee, as a condition of reinstatement, shall pay a reinstatement fee in the amount equal to the renewal fee in effect on the last preceding regular renewal date on which it is reinstated, plus any delinquent fees accrued from the time of the revocation, if such a fee is prescribed by the board by rule.
