## Opinion text

BROWN, J.,
Dissenting.—For the reasons stated in my dissenting opinion in Diamond Multimedia Systems, Inc. v. Superior Court (1999) 19 Cal.4th 1036, 1065 [ 80 Cal.Rptr.2d 828 , 968 P.2d 539 ], I do not believe that out-of-state purchasers of the securities of California companies have a remedy under the Corporate Securities Law of 1968 (Corp. Code, § 25000 et seq.) for market manipulation. Accordingly, I dissent.
Chin, J., concurred.
