CLARK, J.
I dissent. The majority opinion needlessly moves “the juvenile court process one step closer to an adversary proceeding indistinguishable from a criminal trial.” (In re William F. (1974) 11 Cal.3d 249, 256-257 [ 113 Cal.Rptr. 170 , 520 P.2d 986 ] (Clark, J., dissenting).)
