## How it works

- Sources are public: CourtListener and RECAP (Free Law Project), govinfo, eCFR, the US Code and official state sites. The library updates daily.
- The citator is automated. It flags negative treatment (red for overruled, reversed or superseded; yellow for criticised, distinguished or limited) and lists every citing case with the sentence it cites in. It is not editorially reviewed like KeyCite or Shepard's, so read the citing case before relying on a flag.
- Statutes carry their as-of date and status; repealed and superseded sections are searchable but marked. State administrative codes are covered for 16 states so far.
- Some older opinions are page scans; their text comes from OCR and is marked as such.
